Apply to JobJob ID234543BRPosition TitleDirector Corporate StrategyJob DescriptionReporting to the CEO, the corporate strategy team support the Executive Committee of Novartis (ECN) to define the company strategy and prioritize the actions needed to deliver our mission: to discover new ways to extend and improve people’s lives.

As a Director in the team you would be responsible for leading high profile, company-wide pro-jects that address the top priorities for the company. These topics would address the core pillars of our strategy: Cultural transformation; R&D (Research & Development) productivity; Operational excellence; Data & Digital; our social contract with society and overall portfolio strategy.

Each of these topics individually has the potential to change the way Novartis operates for value creation and competitive advantage.

You will be expected to work with the senior leadership across our businesses and operating functions to drive and execute this agenda, as well as represent the company on key topics externally as appropriate.

This is also a unique moment in Novartis’ history as we transition to our new CEO leadership, with an opportunity for you to work on shaping the new agenda for the company.

This is a high visibility and demanding role, but brings with it the opportunity to learn about the company, shape global healthcare trends and have impact at the highest level.

- Leads top-level strategic business projects for Novartis Group, the CEO and the Executive Committee

- Independently manages large cross-organizational teams

- Acts as the thought leader on complex business questions with high intrinsic uncertainty

- Generates strategic insights based on best-in-class analysis, distills outputs and recommendations which enable informed decisions of top-level leaders

- Proactively identifies trends and opportunities to shape the CEO and ECN agenda

- Takes on ad-hoc requests from CEO and ECN

- Develops network of senior managers across Novartis (Typically ECN-1 level)Minimum requirements- MD or PhD

- MBA from a top business school preferred

- Fluency in English

- 3-5 years of practical experience in areas of strategy, planning, project management, business development and/or general management

- 5-8 years Consulting experience with a top tier consulting firm

- Extensive project and program management experience in strategic projects

- Track record of strong business impact

- Deep knowledge in Pharma industry

- Capability to lead without formal authority

- Excellent analytical skills linked with conceptual thinking capabilities

- Strong strategic visioning abilities

- Ability to reduce complexity into strategy decision recommendations

- Excellent communication skills - Strong team player

- Desire to work in an international environment
