Development (Sr) Engineer / Scientist
(m/w) 100 %


Job Summary:

In this function you are responsible for the design, development, processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager. Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential, as well as an understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics.


Your main tasks and responsibilities:


  • Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts

  • Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility and optimum cost

  • Responsible for coordinating and analyzing product evaluation with surgeons

  • Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product as well as design assurance documentation for the project

  • Participating in development meetings with key Zimmer personnel


Your Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor, Master or PhD. degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum in Mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline

  • Superior communication skills (writing, presentations), teamwork and organizational skills

  • Good problem-solving ability and analytical skills, strong sense of initiative, follow-through and attention to detail

  • Experience in identifying customer requirements for to develop and create new products

  • Being familiar with drafting standards, geometric differences and tolerancing

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Project

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and working knowledge of German
