The PositionThe Zurich-based team is looking for a committed and competent Application Operation Manager, who will join our Tools and Frameworks Division - the strategic applications team designs, which runs services across all the Avaloq businesses. We maintain a high level of quality, pay attention to details and deliver by bringing software into production.

  

You will work closely with technology vendors, infrastructure providers and the software development division to provide world class services. You will continuously work on technical and process improvements, keeping both incremental and disruptive options in mind.

  

As part of the team, you will contribute to the global delivery of our highly valued Tools and Frameworks services and shape the future!

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and maintain the software development application stack

  • Automate delivery- and maintenance processes

  • Troubleshoot incidents affecting the software development application stack

  • Coordinate requirements with different user groups and vendors

  • Take responsibility in interdisciplinary projects and in a broad application landscape

Education

  • Completed higher education in the IT area or comparable qualification

  • Excellent command of spoken and written German and English

Professional Experience

  • Knowledge of system design, -development, -implementation and -operation

  • Unix system knowledge & experience, preferably centos and/or RHEL

  • Monitoring of application, performance and end user experience (e.g. fluentd, grafana)

  • Contribute to project managem, solution design & architecture activities - covering security, resilience, automation etc.

  • Basic network understanding and troubleshooting with good knowledge of ssl/tls protocols

  • Setup and configure virtual hardware (vsphere / cloud experience) and infrastructure is a plus

  • High exposure to internal developers, meaning a broad technology knowledge, passion and interest is valued

  • Experience with Oracle databases, the Docker/Kubernetes Ecosystem and provisioning tools like Puppet or Ansible is beneficial
