Director of Operational Safety and Incident Response

As the Director of Operational Safety and Incident Response you will have overall responsibility for achieving results aligned with the strategic vision and goals of tours operations with respect to safety and incident response.  You’ll manage a global team that is responsible for traveler risk management, focusing on proactive operational safety measures and the planning and execution of incident response.

Specific responsibilities may include:



  • Manage team to implement and monitor compliance of regional safety controls to mitigate risk to operational components (e.g. hotels, activities, Tour Directors, etc.)

  • Promote risk management standards, as aligned with the ISO 31000: 2018Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines

  • Oversee operational incident response – training your direct team and operations colleagues to effectively respond to on-tour incidents ranging from operational issues (e.g. hotel or bus issues) to medical incidents to acts of terror

  • Embody and influence a culture of safety throughout the organization

  • Collaborate with the operations teams, sales and regional offices to innovate new solutions and identify future opportunities while continuing to drive existing procedures

  • Effectively train stakeholders about safety and emergency response responsibilities

  • Directly manage the response to severe crisis incidents
