You will drive improved outcomes across development, deployment, excitement and retention of our people firmwide through the use of advanced analytics and integration into our digital capabilities.
To deliver against this, you will shape, prioritize, and drive an analytic agenda and ensure the link to digitization of our talent processes to build impact over time. You will do this in 5 ways. First, together with the CPO, you will distill the needs of the People Committee, People Function and other firm leaders into a set of priorities for the People DnA Function. Second, you will develop and drive the broader analytic underpinning of the people priorities/operations firmwide. This includes monitoring firm performance and keep firm leaders abreast as a mechanism to further evolve and inform ongoing priorities in addition to envisioning and developing new capability. Third, you will ensure that the link to our digital strategy is robust. Fourth you will shape the data strategy and tools that underlies all of the above. Finally, you will further develop a high performing function across our Digital Strategy and People Analytics organization.
Analytics is a major priority of the next chapter of the people function in more classic strategic projects as well as big data/advanced analytics. Our firm is a leader in talent broadly and extending this capability is our next wave of innovation in how we attract, develop, excite and retain our people. The leader of DnA will own the overall portfolio of advanced use cases and shape and lead high priority initiatives on behalf of CPO, People Committee or other firm leaders working with the relevant sponsors to set projects up for impact. Even as you build new capability, you will need to monitor and keep firm leadership abreast of trends and overall health on a monthly quarterly basis, shaping interventions where needed. On both horizons of the analytics agenda, you will work through and lead a highly capable team who will need your help infusing new approaches based on your expertise and de-bottlenecking progress. You will also shape and evolve the tools used including surveys, advanced tools (e.g. R Studio), etc. You will drive and shape major analytically driven events that shape the firm including people planning, firm people survey. In support of this advanced analytics agenda you will need to build the broader of analytics capability in the firm across regions and relevant functions/population areas via both self-service and targeted analytic support.
You will own our approach and structure of people data with an eye to broadest use, impact and sources. You will also infuse creativity and expertise into data ideas, including developing productive connections and uses to data in e.g. finance and IT and navigating relevant regulations (e.g. GDPR) and oversee the complete migration of people data into the data Hub or next gen to maximize access and usability. You will drive innovation including turbo charging the delivery of impact from new capabilities e.g. natural language, ensuring our aspirations for data are baked into future digital efforts, and accessing relevant external sources. You will also further develop a high performing function across our Digital Strategy and People Analytics organization.
Over a three to five-year period the you will ensure that the approach we use to re-imagine and digitize how we to recruiting, learning, development, evaluation, and engagement of our people, is robust and enables analytics. By doing so, you will shape and drive the overall portfolio of initiatives as well as own the overall effectiveness and efficiency that results. You will infuse expertise and ideas from both the firm’s thinking and broader external examples. You will thoughtfully consider and tailor to the needs of the full and many populations of the firm in an effective way across consultants, technical profiles, client service support, and firm professionals. In addition, you will thoughtfully engage the relevant leadership and stakeholders to shape and drive the impact of each initiative and steward our overall portfolio, ensuring appropriate resources, and intervening where needed. In doing all of this you will make sure that analytic and data capabilities are embedded into the work.
Together with Technology leadership, and the Director of Digital Strategy you will co-own the overall strategy and roadmap of our systems and applications across recruiting, learning, development, and engagement which will require you to shape and refine the overall vision and roadmap from a “business perspective” on an ongoing basis in collaboration with T&D leadership, our Director of Digital Strategy and the functional portfolio leads. This will also require you to initiate and guide major projects efforts to deliver against that vision across recruiting, professional development, evaluation, compensation, partner personnel, learning, global experience and platform in line with the firm’s digital strategy. You will create effective collaboration with individual regions and practices to capture innovation, make choices about where to scale, accelerate learning, and drive adoption and ensure the overall impact of our efforts in experience, growth, and efficiency and report at least semi-annually. Lastly, you will engage with adjacent efforts that impact the people function as well as identify ways to increase the impact of people systems on the broader firm ecosystem.
Lastly, you will directly lead the People Analytics and Digital Strategy and Transformation teams (~50 people today) through the next chapter to deliver on all of the above (teams currently based in Washington DC, London and New York). You will attract, develop, and inspire the full range of high caliber technical talent and translators and increase the reputation directly and through members of the group. You will ensure a seamless working model and collaboration with adjacent areas including both firm Technology and Development and McKinsey’s DnA client capability.
You will work in one of our global offices and report directly to our Chief People Officer.
You will further develop our combined analytics and digital function into a world-recognized capability that improves outcomes for our people and firm. As a firm we have built cutting-edge capability in Advanced Analytics as well as driven digital transformation globally. Alongside our client capabilities we have significantly expanded our internally-facing capability across People Digital Strategy & Transformation and People Analytics & Measurement through the 50+ individuals working in these arenas today.
