Job-description


As part of the Smart Systems Business Unit based in Marin, Switzerland, you will be acting as Senior Analog IC Engineer with proven industrial experience, your principal work will be hands-on communication and sensing IC design. You will serve within a highly-skilled team of IC, hardware and Software engineers. Your main responsibilities will be:



  • IC design for transceiver and sensors SoCs: provide expert consulting to Project Managers, other IC designers, FAE team and customers

  • Define communication IC architecture and conduct system study, draft IC specifications, test plans and documentation

  • IC design: develop, simulate and validate communication interface, analog, mixed-signal IC in deep-submicron CMOS

  • Supervise layout with backend team. -Solve complex technical problems spreading over multiple domains around the radio section of SoCs (interfaces, digital system, power management unit, packaging, etc)

  • Supervise third-party contractors. Benchmark competitive solutions and IPs, study technology and standard trends, contribute to the BU’s roadmap

  • Design low power analog circuits and architectures

  • Develop next generation system architectures including system budgeting for best-in-class performance

  • As technical expert, mentor junior engineers on concept and implementation and perform key design tasks

  • Supervise layout engineers -Silicon evaluation and debug

  • Support Product and Test engineers for product qualification

Your profile


Background requirements:



  • At least a Master degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Min. 8 years of experience in the field of communication ICs in deep-submicron CMOS

  • Proven experience of putting RF transceivers into production is a clear plus

  • Solid background in CMOS analog circuit design


Professional requirements


Excellent understanding and proven experience is expected in the following areas:



  • Design of RF/analog/mixed-signal blocks in deep-submicron CMOS: LNA, PA, mixers, PLL, VCO and crystal oscillators, ADC/DAC, analog/digital filters

  • Understanding wireless product requirements

  • IC design/simulation tools and methodologies

  • Industrialization, qualification (for production).

The following IC design skills are expected:



  • Ultra-low-power and low-voltage (1V) RF and analog IC design (transistor level)

  • Design, modelling and simulation of passives used for RF transceivers

  • Positive attitude for owning design and finding creative solutions

  • Talent for solving complex problems over a variety of domains around the radio

  • Team player sharing tasks and know-how proactively with colleagues, team driver stimulating cooperation among multidisciplinary teams/sites/partners

  • Strong on communication and reporting in English

  • At ease with mentoring other teams/groups (FAE, SW, sales) and for representation towards customers

  • Willingness to travel regularly to other EM sites in USA and Czech Republic


Language Skills



  • English (oral & written) is a must

  • Any other language (e.g. speaking french) is an advantage
