Thoratec Switzerland GmbH is an Affiliate of Abbott Medical and takes care of the development and manufacturing of our mechanical circulatory support devices, that are designed to support a broad range of advanced heart failure patients. To complete our team, we are looking for a

Quality Assurance Technician

The QA Technician will contribute to the production, assembly and release of products and in repair procedures and is responsible for review and approval of product manufacturing documents (traveler etc), related to various production procedures, like incoming inspection over testing, storage to assembly and shipping.

Main Responsibilities

• To assess and fully understand the direction of management in order to address the customer’s needs


• To review test documents according internal processes


• To review assemble, production and test documents of final goods and to approve product release


• To document all steps according internal processes


• To train other technicians for standard internal manufacturing procedures with lower complexity


• Support other departmental personnel as needed, including but not limited to Production


• Participate in technical support activities of design/drafting, lab testing, protocol preparation and analysis, and documentation to support records, regulatory and patent submissions


• Assess and propose program equipment needs and alternatives to Management


• Reporting of all issues, failures, etc on products to supervisor


• Responsible for performing internal calibration activities, as required, in accordance with approved calibration procedures


• Performs other duties as assigned by Management

The profile

• Technical apprenticeship or equivalent knowledge and be technically creative


• Experience in the production and handling of technical products is desired


• Good written and oral communication skills in German and English to communicate with Quality, Technical and Business Management personnel.


• Familiarity with and basic understanding of the regulatory and quality system requirements
