Thoratec Switzerland GmbH is an Affiliate of Abbott Medical and takes care of the development and manufacturing of our mechanical circulatory support devices, that are designed to support a broad range of advanced heart failure patients. To complete our team, we are looking for a

Medical Device - Software Engineer

You will be working in a team that is responsible for the development of life-supporting medical devices that are based on magnetic levitation technology. In addition, non-product Software development for manufacturing purposes is part of this role. In this highly regulated field, all aspects of the product life cycle have to be managed.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible to design, develop, test and document software.




• Ensure software deployment.




• Responsible to maintain and work on the continuous improvement of the software.



• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.


• Support regulatory filings by creating required documentation.

The profile

• Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.


• At  least 5 years experience in Software Development, preferable in Medical Device industry.


• Ability to speak and write in German and English fluently.


• Experience with C/C++ and C#.


• Interest and ability to learn new skills.


• Experience in Software Development per IEC 62304 would be an asset.
