You an exciting opportunity as Production Support and Data Enginner to join the SAMI team (Semantic Technology, Analytics, and Machine Intelligence) in Zurich that owns the strategic eCommunications Surveillance platform, which is deployed globally across multiple Business Units. It leverages a vendor product (RedOwl) built on ElasticSearch, a big data technology stack. The platform conducts surveillance on all eCommunication channels to enable Supervisory functions to surface potentially anomalous activity. We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to support this platform. This role is rota-based.
As Production Support member in the eCommunications Surveillance Production and Testing Group (PTG)/Environment Management team you are part of a globally distributed team, with other members based in Pune, Zurich, Raleigh, and London.
You will be first and second line support for the application and infrastructure environment globally.
You will direct end user interaction to support the platform.
You conduct daily health checks and application monitoring.
Incident management and client notification and Environment monitoring, maintenance, and capacity management are also part of your job role.
You will prepare technical documentation to include as-built design, requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Application Upgrades, Testing, and Releases.
You will build new environments for new business and regional deployments and have the opportunity for stretch assignments in next generation Big Data and Machine Learning technologies.
You Offer
A Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent solid working experience in Application and Production support, UNIX/LINUX, RedHat experience as well as scripting skills in BASH.
You have experience with automated deployment technologies such as Ansible, Puppet or Satellite
You have knowledge of security technologies such as Kerberos and SSL and experience with toolsets such as JIRA, SVN, Ansible, Puppet or Satellite
You combine the ability in scripting and troubleshooting application errors in Linux/Unix environments with the familiarity with structured query languages
You are able to coordinate collaboratively across traditional engineering disciplines, with management and with customers.
You have experience in Service Management i.e. Release management, Change management, incident management.
You have a background and experience in the field of Data Management especially in the area of data processing.
You combine the ability to function within a multidisciplinary, global team and act as as a self-starter with a strong curiosity for extracting knowledge from data and the skill to elicit technical requirements from a non-technical audience.
You are a dedicated problem solver with a positive, empathetic personality and can-do attitude who loves to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments.
You have good client facing skills and the ability to present deep technical findings to a business audience and possess strong verbal and technical written communication skills in English.
