Job Responsibilities


 


The Health Economics & Health Technology Assessment Expert is responsible for assessing value evidence generation and developing economic models during the clinical development of Idorsia's new products across multiple therapeutic areas. S/he should be able to work with a high level of autonomy but also in collaboration with clinical development teams within the company, using external resources as needed. This position operates with minimal direction and has a central role in building the expertise in health economics and health technology assessment within Idorsia. Key responsibilities include:


 



  • Establishing and discussing the value evidence dossier for each product in clinical development

  • Interacting with, and being part of, clinical development teams in that regard

  • Designing economic models in view of health technology assessment and reimbursement goals for Idorsia's new products in Europe and the rest of the world, and towards market access in the United States

  • Providing advice on highest value outcome measures, including patient reported outcomes, during Phase 2, 3 and 4 clinical trials

  • Bridging clinical development approaches with market access & pricing activities

  • Interacting with internal and external market access experts in that regard

  • Supporting Idorsia in their discussions with various authorities and organisms (e.g., health technology assessment bodies) assessing the added value of new medicinal products

  • Being part of the Strategic Development team

  • Keeping up with international developments in the field of pharmacoeconomic and outcome research


 


 


Candidate’s Requirements


 



  • Health Economist with experience in Health Technology Assessment

  • A master degree in Health Economics or a closely related degree and equivalent professional experience

  • Min. of 5 years job relevant experience with pharmaceutical industry, either as an active and frequent consultant or an employee

  • Proven record in successful submission of health technology assessment or value dossiers to the relevant bodies, for medicinal products, and perhaps also for devices, is an asset

  • Mastery and practical use experience of health economic models

  • Capacity to capture the scientific and medical components of a new drug development program; experience in more than one therapeutic area

  • Experience with patient reported outcomes

  • Direct knowledge of comparative European and US approaches for value evidence generation

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and command of the English language

  • Inspires and convinces others, gaining agreement from people; lobbies; and networks effectively with key stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on and autonomously in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize multiple competing tasks, and to proactively address issues and demands
