We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to join the The In vivo models Team (IVM) in Zurich. The In vivo models Team (IVM) is part of the Discovery Oncology Pharmacology Department at the Roche Innovation Center Zurich.  The IVM team is responsible for setting up and characterizes new cutting edge in vivo models that will be used to assess efficacy and mechanism of action of cancer immunotherapies in vivo.

In this position you will be responsible of:

• Set up of new in vivo tumor mouse models (syngeneic, GEMM, PDX, humanized models)          


• Characterize in vivo tumor mouse models by flow cytometry as well as by cytokine and chemokine analysis


• Generate and screen humanized mouse models


• Culturing and expanding human and murine cell line following detailed SOPs.


• Interact with other research associates and coordinate the logistic of in vivo experiments


• Presents results of studies or technical data to group meetings.


• Maintains and ensures safe laboratory environment and work practices


• Maintain laboratory records and notebook, organize and compile data, and write reports on results

Qualification:

• Degree in biological sciences (Ph.D. not required) and at least 2-5 years of working on preclinical in vivo modelling with preference in oncology and immunology


• Sound knowledge of basic mouse handling techniques (i.v., i.p., s.c. …)


• Strong experience in multi-parametric flow cytometry-based techniques


• Previous experience with humanized mouse models and/or PDX models is a plus


• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills


• High degree of self-motivation, flexibility and ability to independently conduct experiments


• Interest in working in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment


• Good knowledge of English
