As the Global Procurement Analyst you will take responsibility for analyzing procurement spend and savings. You will build and own a market and business intelligence platform supporting category managers within indirect and direct categories. You will develop and maintain procurement supporting tools and templates.

You will report to the Head of Global Procurement Business support in RDC. The global leadership team, category and commodity managers, affiliates and finance are key work relationships.

Your responsibilities

Business expertise on procurement data. You have a deep understanding of savings calculations. You create overviews and maintain spend data at supplier level. You are responsible for monthly reporting of procurement performance in alignment with finance. You own the SPI (Strategic Procurement Initiatives) tracker securing its maintenance with high quality data/input from category managers.

Build and maintain business and market intelligence platform. You collect relevant insights needed from direct and indirect categories. You ensure automatic triggers of changes in significant cost drivers e.g. oil prices are being considered by category managers with meaningful information. You will conduct in market monitoring and calling for action in case specific cost drivers change significantly in the market place.

Develop, own and maintain procurement tools and templates. You constantly look for opportunities for standardizing the way we work. You will ensure training is provided and communication is disseminated within the procurement community.

Participate in ad hoc analysis by analyzing delivery terms, payment terms, ensuring these are in accordance with RDC standards. You conduct supplier analysis including new potential suppliers and prepare presentations for senior management.

Participation on ad hoc projects: Support RFx process, setting up RFx material, analyzing responses to RFx projects, search and selection process of new supplier/material, setup eSourcing activities in collaboration with category managers.

Who you are

• You hold a Master degree e.g. within Engineering, Business, Finance or other relevant natural science background


• High proficiency in English. Other languages e.g. German, French, Spanish will be desirable


• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within a Global Procurement function preferably within Pharma or Medical Device manufacturing with exposure to different cultures in a global setting


• Experience from working in a cross functional setting (e.g. Supply chain, Finance, Quality, Regulatory)


• Experience from digitalizing Procurement processes is desired e.g. Requisition-to-Pay processes using state of the art procurement systems/tools


• Strong analytical skills


• Good communication skills e.g. story telling


• Strong ability to network and build trustful working relationships


• Deep understanding of financial processes of a company (P&L and Balance sheet) and how Global Procurement can create financial value and how to calculate/report


• Prepare business cases including financial decision parameters e.g. NPV calculations


• Expert in using the Microsoft office package e.g. database functions, Excel and PowerPoint


• Experience with SAP ERP systems


• Experience with Procurement systems and processes e.g. Ariba, eSourcing tools


• Project management experience – ability to define project charter including project plan and lead smaller to mid-sized projects


• Experience with preparing management reporting and presentations


• Experience with supporting category managers e.g. preparing/analysing RFP/RFQ, doing cost analysis, clean sheet modelling, prepare supplier overviews, business case development, make vs. buy decisions
