Strategy development

• Contributes to the development of Strategic Health Policy & Pricing for the Region.

• Supports the implementation of Global P&PAx strategy within the Region.

• Gathers input from CPOs/Clusters to create a Region perspective for input into the development of Global P& PAx strategies. Support countries in the region to maximize access maintenance.



Operational delivery

• Ensure that at launch, Novartis brands are supported by a robust payer value proposition, strong evidence package and a pricing strategy maximizing the life-time value of the brand.

• Represents Regional Patient Access and Payers perspective at V&ATs

• Fosters alignment between Global/Regions/Clusters and CPOs on access and pricing challenges or opportunities.

• Develop a Regional integrated Patient Access & Payers strategy for the Rare Disease Franchise aimed at delivering the product differentiation most relevant for payers.

• Generates Region-specific Patient Access insights and action plans and supports CPOs to implement communications programs that support the Region’s Patient Access objectives.

• Works with GPA and V&AT Teams and articulate Region Europe payer needs across decision-making forums and teams (GPT and V&ATs).

• Accountable for RE Patient Access & payers perspective being appropriately reflected (integrated) into the overarching product development, medical affairs and commercial strategy

• Collaborates with CPO PAx to identify key stakeholders and their needs/interests and helps CPOs to maintain a dialog with stakeholders that is consistent and aligned with the Global strategy.

• Supports Region Europe CPOs in developing strong relations with public institutions, health-related organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) relevant for Orphan drugs and Rare Disease indications.



Functional excellence

• Supports the development of PAx capabilities and operational excellence across the Re-gion with focus on Rare Disease compounds and Orphan Drugs.

• Identifies best practices across the Region and promotes sharing in the PAx community.

• Sets up and runs PAx ‘excellence’ programs for the CPOs in the Region.



Business partnering

• Establishes strong working networks with GPA colleagues, RE Franchise teams and with leaders across the Region.

• Establishes strong working networks with CPOs and Clusters across the Region.Minimum requirements• A related university degree, MBA preferred

• 5+ years relevant experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, HTA, physician associations or health care consultancy companies

• Advanced knowledge of PAx, P&R environment within the Region and in addition in the area of Rare Disease and Orphan Drugs

• Extensive (about 5 years) pharma management experience

• Commercial and development experience and understanding (about 5 years)

• Fluency in English (both written and oral), a secondary language would also be highly beneficial

• Successful relationship management and international networking

• Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate scientific and economic topics

• Well developed understanding of national Health Care, regulatory environment, of drug P&R and Listing processes; if possible experience with Orphan Drugs and Rare Disease indications
