Manage the global Drug Substance Leaders group located in Basel. Provide oversight, senior expertise and guidance to the projects driven by the Drug Substance Leaders
Major accountabilities:
•Contribute to the definition and execution of the DS Late phase Development strategy as member of the global DS Development Project and Process Sciences leadership team.
•Drive DS Project management and execution (e.g. Process Characterization, manufacturing process transfers, control strategies).
•Ensure that the objectives for DS Development are met, or exceeded, by setting appropriate priorities and ensuring optimal use of resources.
•Keep oversight that the right and consistent development requirements are applied, as part of each specific project strategy, balancing cost versus risk while ensuring timely deliverables at the right quality.
•Review and approve relevant DS Development plans and reports. Contribute to responses for health authorities, support audits and inspections.
•People management within the group. Drive associate development and retention of key talents, as well as talent attractionMinimum requirementsAdvanced degree in life science
>8 years of experience preferably within a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment
Experience with Health Authority review of submission documents is a plus
Fluent in English (oral & writing)
Local language skills of advantage (German)
Thorough understanding of late phase biologics drug substance development or equivalent
Strong dedication to manage processes required
Strong organizational skills, team player, flexible and dedicated personality, demonstrated in cross-functional/ international environment (matrix organization)
