This includes the development and implementation of sizeable digital lighthouse efforts within each part of the Novartis organization and deployment of digital technologies and ways of working to achieve group-wide strategic objectives that are (co-) owned by the Chief Digital Officer as well as the further development of the Novartis Digital Strategy.



The team Digital Strategy and Program Operations reports directly to the CDO of Novartis and directly works with him in developing the overall digital strategy and operating model for Novartis as well as in driving select digital lighthouses with cross-organizational and group strategic relevance.



Main Activities:

As a Director Digital Products in the above team you would be responsible for developing and leading high profile, top priority digital projects. These projects can focus on individual parts of the Novartis organization or span across the organization and will address the core pillars of our digital strategy in driving innovation and productivity in NIBR and GDD to transforming our commercial model and achieve a step change in productivity and quality in NBS and NTO applying data and digital technologies. Those priority efforts will be run jointly with the business or as exploratory efforts directly under the CDO. They all have the potential to fundamentally change the way Novartis operates.



You will be expected to work with the senior leadership across our businesses and operating functions to drive and execute these efforts primarily in cross-organizational teams as well as with external partners as appropriate. This is a high visibility and demanding role, that offers the opportunity to shape the digital transformation at Novartis bringing together strategic thinking and operational execution for company-wide impact.



Concrete accountabilities include:

• Leads digital business projects for the CEO and the Executive Committee and the CDO

• Independently manages large cross-organizational teams

• Acts as the thought leader on complex digital projects under significant level of uncertainty and novelty

• Proactively identifies trends and opportunities to shape the digital agenda of the CEO and CDO

• Takes on ad-hoc requests from CDOMinimum requirementsEducation:

Masters or PhD in natural science or engineering - MBA from a top business school preferred.



Languages:

High proficiency in English.



Professional experience:

• >5 years of practical experience in the Pharma industry or in applying digital technologies in healthcare.

• >5 years Consulting experience with a top tier consulting firm.

• Extensive experience and track record in project and program management of complex, cross-organizational projects.

• Track record of strong business impact.

• Deep knowledge in Pharma industry.

• Capability to lead without formal authority.

• Very strong analytical skills and translation into focused project guidance.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Very strong team player.

• Desire to work in an international environment.
