Position Purpose:

You will provide advanced support for the company servers and communications infrastructure, taking ownership of day to day operations, and design leadership in various local or global projects. This role is responsible for maintaining a functional, reliable, and cost effective technology environment for the areas assigned and leading in identifying the potential for adding value and improvements to the business systems. Collaborates with cross functional infrastructure teams, software systems engineering and/or application development teams in order to restore service and/or identify problems. This is a highly skilled technical position that involves intricate knowledge of server virtualization with VMWare, storage systems with NetApp and EMC, backups primarily with Commvault, Cisco server hardware (UCS) and Data Center facilities operations. Must have prior experience managing storage and server virtualization resources in a 24x7 environment. Also, must be process driven and be able to contribute to strategic technical Roadmaps.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Actively participate in global Storage Infrastructure Team


• Actively participate in global Backup and Data Center operations Team


• Assist in license management


• Manage capacity planning, report technical performance metrics, and implementation of operational standards and best practices to meet required service levels.


• Develop and continuously refine documented technical strategies in order to provide a scalable and manageable environment for future growth


• Coordinate and contribute to the stability, availability, security, and performance of the organization’s storage, server virtualization and data center facilities working with other cross platform Infrastructure teams, Security team, Architecture team and Application teams


• Services delivered include general consulting, project build work, general administration, 24x7 support, upgrade, patching, migration and/or transition planning, performance and tuning, project planning, standards validation/development, technical documentation, process automation, and problem analysis and Resolution

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of system administration experience with storage area networking with NetApp preferably Metro cluster , protocols FC, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, FCOE, Brocade and Cisco SAN switch management, Snap manager , DFM.


• Minimum of 5 years in backup and disaster recovery (DR) planning


• Minimum of 5 years in server virtualization and storage resource management


• Minimum of 4 years experience with Cisco UCS


• Minimum of 2 years experience with tape libraries & backup software, including Commvault


• Fluent in English and German
