We are looking for a Solution Architect with an affinity for advanced analytics and data science to join safety informatics, a part of Pharma Informatics. We’re an informatics team, solely dedicated to supporting the mission of Pharma Development - Safety Risk Management, ensuring patient safety is at the heart of Roche. We do this through ensuring informatics solutions facilitate meeting regulatory requirements, but also provision the systems to do signal management, and particularly relevant for this role, drive business insights through data. You will be essential in ensuring Safety has technically robust, state of the art solutions, enabling driving data insights and analysis, supporting the ingestion, management and analysis of heterogeneous data at scale. This role will play a fundamental role as we engage now in a fundamental digital transformation programme for Pharma Safety Risk Management. This role requires close cooperation and collaboration with Pharma Safety Risk Management, responding to internal business requirements and the expectations of international regulatory agencies. Coordination with vendors, software development resources and other internal and external partners will be required as well.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Staying on-top of developments in data science, advanced analytics


• Ensuring our solutions are effective in delivering value to business at an optimal cost


• Accountability for the team’s data lake, data warehouse, analysis and reporting environments


• Aligning with larger organizational efforts, best practices and standards ensuring compatibility in data exchange with other global solutions


• Thoughtful consideration of data privacy and other regulatory commitments governing Roche data, and close alignment with information architects within and outside our team

You bring the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Data Science or equivalent technical background


• 5+ years experience in the field of Software Architecture, applied in Business Intelligence or Data Science settings, designing Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions (Big Data, Cloud technologies, Data Science and Analytics environments)


• Highly customer-focused, and passionate about delivering high quality solutions and services that anticipates business needs


• Excellent communication skills in English, able to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of colleagues across the globe


• An entrepreneurial mind with a passion for information, technology, courage to want to do all possible for our patients, and wisdom to ensure results
