To support our Legal & Integrity Division, FIFA is looking to recruit an experienced and independent
Senior Legal Counsel Marketing & Competitions
Your duties


  • Drafting and providing further legal assistance with agreements and further arrangements in relation to accommodation and tour operator solutions for FIFA tournaments and activities

  • Drafting and providing further legal assistance in relation to ticketing and hospitality operations as well as bidding & hosting agreements for FIFA tournaments, activities and further event-related services

  • Assisting with the continuous development of FIFA competition regulations or further guidelines and regulations of FIFA

  • Providing general legal service support

  • Providing guidance to other team members, including reviewing their work and training junior counsels

Our requirements


  • Fully qualified to practise law (registered on the roll/admitted to the bar of the relevant jurisdiction and completed academic and practical training)

  • Six to eight years of legal practice

  • Minimum of four years of legal and/or commercial practice “on the job” in the events, accommodation/tourism or ticketing/hospitality industry or a reputable law firm engaged in such industry; on-site experience at a major sporting event is a plus

  • Mother-tongue English speaker or very proficient English speaker with professional experience of working with and drafting legal documents in English; a second language would be highly beneficial, preferably German, French or Spanish

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Flexible approach to work across a wide range of football, event organisation and commercial practice areas

  • Ability to transfer profound legal knowledge into commercially or operationally oriented solutions

  • Very structured, self-competent and reliable

  • Well-organised and precise working style with a strong eye for detail

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or within a team on a wide variety of projects and to set and adhere to priorities and deadlines

  • Service- and solution-orientated personality with good communication skills
