They provide operational leadership to high complexity DDPPs with multiple indications/programs. In addition the GPPD supports and deputizes for the GPTD to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the Global Program Team (GPT), contributes to strategy development, proactively identifies and helps resolve issues. They will also identify and proactively set up and lead ad hoc cross functional task forces/sub-teams, and help facilitate alignment across sub-teams and line functions. They may be assigned to cover the GPTD role, in lieu of a GPTD, in addition to GPPD responsibilities for lower complexity programs. In such assignments, the GPPD reports to the Global Program Head (GPH) as program manager.
