Apply to JobJob ID249193BRPosition TitlePatent Litigation Paralegal Innovative Medicines x 2Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for two Paralegals to join our IP litigation teams in Pharma and Oncology. They will be responsible for supporting the in-house patent litigation team to coordinate and manage its multi-jurisdictional (ex-US) patent litigation. The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders including external counsel in various jurisdictions. The position requires a high degree of autonomy to take initiative and manage work-streams. There is a strong emphasis on good written communication and collaboration skills.



Accountabilities



• Support in-house patent litigation lead including, in preparing for patent enforcement and/or defence. Tasks include communicating with external counsel and global & local business colleagues.

• Project management:

- Support in-house patent litigation lead at all stages of the enforcement/defence process.

- Assist in managing the global patent enforcement strategy with local lawyers/local business colleagues.

- Information management & litigation docketing using litigation databases (e.g. OneNote, SharePoint, Memotech) (training provided on all software systems).

- Prepare for and attend meetings with internal team, local counsel and/or local business colleagues (including agenda management, minute-taking and follow-up, at lead litigator’s instruction).

- Work with the in-house paralegal team to assist in managing the patent litigation budgeting process, including working with colleagues in the finance team.

• Assist in the preparation of draft litigation documents, e.g. status reports & updates, legal research, and assistance in the preparation of objections/arguments and assistance with disclosure.

• Review, draft, amend and handle patent and standard legal documents such as Powers of Attorney, engagement letters, notice letters, patent assignments and licenses.Minimum requirementsMinimum Requirements

• B.A. / BSc Hons degree (e.g. Law), or paralegal qualification (e.g. Patentanwalts-Fachangestellte, CIPA PAC (Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys Certificate of Patent Administration))

• Fluency in English is essential

• 1-3 years of experience in the IP litigation field and/or 3+ years’ experience as a Patent Paralegal, preferably in the Pharma field
