We are looking for a highly motivated and committed scientist to join our immunology research team within the Autoimmunity, Transplantation & Inflammation Disease Area.
Your responsibilities will be to:
• Interact with cross-functional and cross-divisional project teams active in drug development
• Work with cell cultures, primary immune cells and human tissue for drug development and target validation
• Establish state of the art molecular and cellular technology to build mechanistic assays and to investigate the function of primary human immune cells
• Master a wide range of methods, like WB, ELISA, CRISPR/Cas9, multicolor flow cytometry and the assessment of in vitro leukocyte differentiation for the characterization of novel immuno-modulating substances and pathways
• You will work in a lab team, in a science-driven environment with both exploratory and operational functions
• You can expect to contribute to the investigations and understanding of novel pathways in human immunology and to apply cellular systems for drug discovery and optimizationMinimum requirements• MSc, BSc, Diploma or strong apprenticeship in immunology and cell biology
• Solid knowledge and practical experience of cell culture methods including primary human and murine cells is a must
• Expertise in analysis of large datasets (multi-parameter cytometry, NGS methods), background in cellular biology, molecular biology and immunology are positive assets
• Experienced with a variety of in vitro cell biology methods (e.g. flow cytometry, qPCR, digital PCR, NGS, single cell analysis and western blot)
• Experience in isolating, handling and stimulating primary human leukocytes is preferred
• Theoretical knowledge of immunology and immunological methods is an advantage
• Reliable, meticulous and high performant lab operating skills
• Eager to learn new technologies and to perform exploratory activities
• Strong ability to both work independently and as a team member
• Scientific curiosity, initiative, commitment, flexibility and good organization skills
• Good balance between analytical careful thinking and a practical/pragmatic approach
