Senior Business Reporting & Analytics Specialist

Job description and responsibilities:


 


Equatex AG’s technology organisation is developing and maintaining all IT solutions and executing complex agile projects.


We are looking for a “Senior Business Reporting & Analytics Specialist” with 5-8 years of experience.


 


Key tasks of this diverse and challenging role include:


 



  • Design, test, and implement the right views, measurements and processes in business analytics that translate data into useful and actionable information

  • Compile data from multiple sources and systems into usable analytic information

  • Interact regularly with subject matter experts and stakeholder to ensure appreciation of management needs, ad-hoc analysis and daily reporting needs

  • Back the team for adherence to defined repeatable processes; ensure architecture designs align with technology strategies and standards; championing new standards as required

  • Support continuous improvement in business initiatives by obtaining the required business data, develop, test and launch reports and analytics. Participate in business analytics projects

  • Provide customised data reporting services based on Oracle/SQL, QlikView and Business Objects to a top-tier client. Provide client with recurring and ad-hoc reports

  • Analyse business reporting needs and requirements of internal stakeholders, liaise with knowledge contributors and document results

  • Implement reports and dashboards and manage stakeholders for review-feedback sessions through iterative development process

  • Contribute to data aggregation strategy for reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics, analyse online and offline customer behaviour and help create and maintain an attribution model

  • Contribute to establish an architecture and best practices around our Business Intelligence solution

  • Working as part of a team within the Data Analytics & BI team and providing support to colleagues to enhance excellence within the team and department

  • Ensure timely delivery to internal and external business stakeholders

  • Close co-operation with other IT teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation of business requirements (DBAs, infrastructure)

Qualifications, skills & knowledge:


 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, information technology, statistics, mathematics, analytics, related field or combination of education and experience

  • Professional experience in data technology, ideally with a financial background

  • Solid understanding of relational data models and data structures

  • Developing SQL queries (Oracle experience is a plus)

  • Experience in creating content with a BI tool (e.g. QlikView, Business Objects or prevero)

  • Ability to work with accuracy under tight deadlines

  • Ability to organise and manage stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills and quick understanding of complex procedures and processes

  • Self-driven and proactive in building knowledge and expertise

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach to interact with various stakeholders

  • Fluent English language skills (written, spoken) are a pre-requisite. German is an advantage
