The RBS Private Banking entities offer high net worth clients a comprehensive range of private banking, wealth planning and investment management services through the Coutts and Adam & Co brands as well as to designated NatWest and RBS clients in the UK and internationally. To anticipate and respond to changing client demand, there is a growing emphasis on delivering a full range of innovative digital services.


Role Purpose:


As our Business Analyst Cards/Payments you are responsible to work alongside colleagues in the respective area of expertise for Open Banking and PSD2 related projects having key responsibilities for Card and Payments services. Besides that, you will be responsible for business analysis and IT solution finding for the incidents and change requests within the mentioned business applications in the customised Avaloq platform.


Key Accountabilities:



  • Technical business analysis and customisation in following core-banking application areas (Avaloq):
    - Cards business application for debit, credit and charge cards services
    - Payments business applications incl. standing orders, money transfers and cheques
    - UK domestic payments, direct debit and Industry Account Switching services
    - Avaloq AMI message interfaces to 3rd party systems via specific middleware MQ system

  • Requirements engineering and solution design Payments/Cards related projects and change requests

  • Provide IT architecture guidance for the Debit and Credit Card service design and concepts

  • Regular collaboration and service maintenance with 3rd party systems owners outside RBS Services

  • Project work to support the entire implementation life cycle, ensuring that IT solutions are not only fulfilling business requirements, but are also technically feasible and sustainable


Skills:



  • Technical know-how in core-banking system Avaloq resp. multi-tier Oracle DB based IT architecture

  • Strong SQL scripting skills

  • Development skills in at least one programming language, preferably PL/SQL

  • MS Office applications knowledge

  • English written and spoken, German spoken, written would be beneficial

  • Structured, strong analytical and proactive way of work


Required Experience:



  • Technical business analysis and/or IT consulting

  • Experience in IT projects in the banking sector

  • Avaloq scripting experience for multiple years

  • Experience in financial industry or education (especially area payments) is an advantage

  • University degree or equivalent in computer science or engineering

  • Familiar with the issue and project tracker tool JIRA is preferred
