Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Management

• Leads the affiliate Medical Department spanning H/O and I&I franchises, and facilitates effective collaboration between clinical research/medical affairs and the commercial organization


• Effectively leads, motivates and develops the entire local medical team, including effective performance management and execution of individual development plans to ensure the ambitious goals of the organization are met


• Establishes and communicates a compelling vision for the medical organization in Switzerland, in accordance with the affiliate and HQ strategy


• Intensively exchanges and collaborates with other Celgene affiliates and Celgene Int’l Medical / Clinical / Drug Safety Departments


• Is an active member of the Swiss affiliate Management Team. Works closely with the General Manager and other team members to develop and achieve Celgene’s goals. Actively contributes to the establishment and advancement of Celgene in Switzerland

Clinical Operations

• Represents Clinical Development in the Swiss affiliate and as such effectively liaises with EMEA Head of Clinical Development.


• Partners with Clinical Development to identify opinion leaders, investigators and clinical experts that support compound development and are capable to perform clinical trials


• Accountable for coordination of protocol and feasibility checks for Celgene clinical trials and reporting of outcomes to the relevant CR&D staff


• Keeps good relationships with Celgene Int’l Clinical Operations

Medical Affairs

• Drives medical exchange with national and international KOLs, professional societies and other key stakeholders in the healthcare sector, such as national authorities


• Provides clinical education and scientific information to key audiences (e.g., presentations in investigator meetings, society presentations, etc.)


• Identifies product/indication opportunities through discussions with institutional leaders (companies, care facilities) and the establishment of advisory boards


• Drives patients access programs to address high unmet medical needs.


• Guarantees a strong and excellent medical knowledge within the Medical team on Celgene therapeutic areas and is accountable for internal expertise in all indications of Celgene products


• Facilitates sharing of this medical knowledge with internal and external customers


• Takes responsibility as one of the local official spokespersons in case of external media requests


• Keeps effective relationships with Celgene Int’l senior Medical Affairs functions.

Pharmacovigilance and compliance

• Ensures that planning, set-up and pursuing of all activities required by pharmacovigilance and risk management in accordance to Swiss law


• Drives medical product development and commercialization activities to the highest standards and optimal organizational outcome, with respect of ethics and patients’ safety
