Overview


IT Workplace Manager at SoftwareONE represents a key area in the organization’s ability to keep pace with the IT needs of Internal Users, Direct Customers, VARassist and Strategic Publisher Partners. SoftwareONE anticipates the need to manage hyper-growth for the next several years. IT infrastructure is considered one of the cornerstone areas for supporting this growth.


 


SoftwareONE Business IT focuses on proven ITIL based processes. As part of a global IT organization, this position is working in the Service Design and Service Transition processes area. The position will combine these global and local standards and be responsible to provide a top-notch service. Duties include designing, planning and building of IT services for cloud and on-premises environments. The position will assist in the maintenance and operations of the existing cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The position can be located in any of the EMEA sites and reports directly to the Head of IT Infrastructure.


Responsibilities



  • Together with your teammates you are the interface to our end-users. You understand the demands of them and translate that into solutions and services that we will provide

  • Must be able to apply a comprehensive and in- depth knowledge of technical concepts, practices and procedures related to Client Management platforms

  • Lead projects as needed to support the SoftwareONE business environment. Be a subject matter expert in all technologies related to computer management and administration

  • Develop, define and implement the companywide workplace strategy with all its surroundings globally together with the teams

  • Responsible for Software Management/Distribution/Patch management/Compliance and client hardware lifecycle together with the teams

  • Administer the client-computing environment together with the client teams to ensure clients are maintained in accordance with the SWO standards using tools such as Ivanti (Former Enteo DSM). Provide 3rd level support of the endpoint computing environment. Support the Service Desk/L2 Team by proving solutions that solve problems.

  • Collaborate closely with the central workplace teams and the Business Relation Manager to support client rollouts like Windows 10m but also with the smartphone subject matter experts

  • Work with the License and Systems administrators to ensure all software packages are updated to maintain a robust software deployment platform

  • Responsible for Vendor management around the client workspace area

  • Responsible to drive the future BYOD stream within SoftwareOne

  • Foster operational excellence through streamlined IT processes, standardization and automation

  • Collaborate and loop back learnings, improvements and challenged to the global IT Organization

  • Travel: max 10% in Region, 5% globally

Qualifications



  • 5+ years of experience in designing, planning and implementing client workspace solutions within medium to large organizations (>2,000 users)

  • Expert knowledge of Software distribution solutions like: Ivanti (former Enteo DSM) Desktop- and Server management, SCCM, or similar

  • Full in-depth working knowledge of Windows OS platforms, specifically Windows 10

  • In-depth Knowledge in Active Directory / Group Policy Management for client environments

  • Essential to come with knowledge in all aspects of the Windows OS platform and have a full in-depth working knowledge of Windows technologies to enable the job-holder to hit the ground running in the design of the best future state Windows platforms.

  • A desire and interest to stay up-to-date with the latest changes in Windows and integrated software technologies.

  • Happy to embed with IT experts of all levels - listening, taking ideas, sharing knowledge and delivering solution with people from different IT backgrounds, agendas and pressures, from senior IT architects, business users, IT management to front line operational support teams, juniors and program developers in the IT department.

  • Knowledge in network infrastructure including: firewalls, switches and wireless

  • Knowledge in Cloud Solutions (Public/Private/Hybrid) with AWS and Azure

  • Highly self-motivated and results oriented

  • Proven innovation skills and vision

  • Proven business communication, leadership and project management skills

  • Contributes to knowledge sharing within a community (e.g. team, practice, or project)

  • Reuses existing knowledge to accelerate solutions delivery
