MECHANICAL ENGINEER (m/f)


Action


You will be responsible for dealing with all of the assemblies, both technically and in terms of constructional adaptation, within the continuous casting machine department, together with your team colleagues. You will develop the required components, units and systems based on the technical specifications from Sales and on the Engineering Guidelines. You will handle the basic engineering; detailed engineering will be provided by the company's subsidiary in India or by external partners. Furthermore, you will manage and coordinate the engineering of the assemblies and/or sub-projects assigned to you, monitor deadline requirements and will be responsible for the technical accuracy and clearance of all documents (drawings, material lists, etc.). Throughout the execution of the project, you will work closely with the project managers, the procurement department, workshops, commissioning personnel and subcontractors. During occasional operations on site, you will familiarize yourself with your equipment during use in production.


Knowledge


For this challenging and varied role we are looking for candidates with a degree in engineering (Technical University or BSc) and who have several years experience in development or construction. The position requires broad technical expertise in general plant construction and engineering as well as a willingness to assume responsibility. You will also have the ability to work very independently, take a structured approach to your work and offer excellent communications and project leadership skills. A sound knowledge of CAD (preferably AutoCad and Inventor) is essential as is very good written and spoken English and a willingness to travel internationally at very short notice (approx. 10%).
