Job Description Summary

Purpose

Reporting to the Marketing Director, Diagnostic Systems Europe, the Product Manager Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (ID/AST) Europe is responsible for supporting the overall business objectives of BD Diagnostics, Diagnostic Systems Europe, by maintaining and developing market expert knowledge and translating the business strategy related to ID/AST Solutions into tactical programs for the country organizations.

Main Responsibilities



  • Accountable for the achievement of key marketing functional goals at a product or product group line level

  • Influence the development and drive the execution of the core clinical product group lines tactical marketing and communication plans

  • Formulate recommendations and take decisions that impact sales and/or expense budget performance

  • Influence within work area/department/function and provide significant input into product/product group line-related business decisions and resource planning

  • Demonstrate marketing expertise through specific and advanced set of skills and knowledge, e.g. branding, product development, price strategy, financial forecasting

  • Drive product launches and contribute to market access planning and strategy

  • Give input into leadership teams on a large worldwide product/product group line: European Marketing and Business team, Country Marketing teams, Global Product and Marketing teams, or Product Development Core Teams

  • Play critical role in key European projects/ initiatives and will lead project/ initiative teams within the area of the product/product group line

  • Coordinate activities from other functions that are required as part of the execution of launch and marketing/sales plans.  These functions encompass regulatory affairs, medical and scientific affairs, supply chain, technical service, marketing communications, etc.


Key Requirements



  • Academic degree in Microbiology or similar education preferred

  • Several years of work experience in the life science industry (single country and multiple country levels)

  • Experience in product and portfolio management, product solution management

  • Proven ability to work across different platforms and business units

  • Experience in identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, targeted marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategy and Go-to-Market models and strategies.

  • Proven experience working with Key Opinion Leaders

  • Able to deal with ambiguity, adaptable, flexible, proactive decision maker

  • Ability to influence decisions, to set priorities and follow through

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability

  • Capacity to lead and coordinate and influence a project team

  • Good planning skills combined with high level of self-organization

  • Fluent in English and preferably one or more European languages: French, Spanish, Italian or German.
