What's the role?


You will determine materials properties of different steel grades after exposure to various thermo-chemical heat treatments.


Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration for 3-6 months

What does the role involve?


As intern in our department you’ll be part of the materials research team. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop solutions for components that are exposed to extreme conditions like abrasive wear as well as impact loads.


Your key responsibilities will be metallographic examination, hardness and impact testing, measurement of tribological properties by using state-of-the art laboratory equipment as well as phase analysis be means of SEM-EDS as well as EBSD. You will perform those tests self-responsibly, evaluate results and write a short report.

We have 400 of the world’s best engineers developing and testing tomorrow’s technical solutions in our innovation center in Liechtenstein.

What you need is:



  • A bachelor degree in materials science or affiliated

  • Powerpoint, Excel, fluency in English (required) or German (beneficial)

  • Basic skills in materials-related laboratory work

  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality

  • Passion for innovation and product development
