Technical Expert (Mechanical & Performance)
Responsibilities
You will be working as a part of the international multidisciplinary team. Due to the nature of our business you will be sometimes delegated for individual attendances on-board Vessels, at Shipyards or at Engine builders. In such situations high flexibility, understanding of marine propulsion plants and independence in taking actions is required.
Testing and commissioning support of engines and products followed by a structured reporting to stakeholders
Assessment of products and system in operation with the goal of improvement of their performance and optimisation
Technical assistance and mentoring role to Operation Support Experts in Network, sharing of own knowledge and encouraging others to do same is the vital part
Preparation and updating product documention (commissioning instructions, manulas, training materilas)
Conducting infrmation sessions and training for our partners, ocassionally for Customers, collecting fedbacks and presenting it in a conclusive form
Direct and remote technical support for troubleshooting on engine’s in service, technical support in waranty cases
General view on engine performance as an effect of its thermodynamics and control processes within the engine control system, engine room automation and ships propulsion requirements
Expert knowledge of diesel and dual fuel engine tuning
Hands on exparience with machineries, tools and mesauring equipment, ships and shipyards, basic knowledge of programming would be an extra advantage
Requirements
Minimum BSc degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, any higher degree is an advantage
Additional degree in Automation would be a great advantege
Expert level knowledge of internal combustion reciprocating engines, preferably low speed 2-stroke marine engines (diesel and dual fuel)
Expert level knowledge of ship's engine room systems, automation and control systems
Self-motivated with ability to work in an international and multicultural team
Systematic, analytic and technical mind, experienced in practical problem solving with excellent reporting skills, basic experinece in project management would be an advantage too
Willing to travel, also at short notice, and work on-board Vessels, accepting temporary inconvinences of working environment
Fluent in English, basic German, any other foreign language (ie. common amongst Shipowners) is an advantage
