Responsabilités Role overview:
Responsible for legal affairs for the Elanco business and functions in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. This role is both strategic and operational.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing strategic and operational legal counsel regarding a broad range of legal affairs, including commercial, litigation, competition law, anticorruption, regulatory, environmental and other legal matters.

  • Develop training plan and provide legal training to staff.

  • Serve on Iberia & Italy lead team and France lead team.

  • Monitor and supervise external counsels and legal spend.

  • Other tasks as designated by supervisor.

Compétences requises Education:

  • Seasoned attorney with 8+ years in practice and experience as in‐house legal counsel in the pharma, animal health industry, food industry, or other consumer oriented or regulated industry

  • Additional private practice experience is a plus

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent legal degree in France, Spain or Italy

  • High level of English fluency and at least passive fluency in French, Spanish and Italian

Required skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated skills in providing strategic advice and leadership, including the ability to persuade and influence decision‐making

  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented attitude

  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); at least passive communications skills (reading and hearing) in French, Spanish and Italian

  • Self-motivated, hard-working, detail-minded, clear thinker, quick learner, team player and ability to work independently under pressure with minimum supervision

  • Strong team player skills and attitude

  • Sound business acumen and commercial awareness and practically-oriented, ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively, ability to provide solution-oriented legal advices

  • Leadership and effectiveness in working with senior management to find innovative solutions to existing and emerging challenges

  • Proven experience in taking a stand, constructive confrontation and challenging leadership as appropriate

  • Clear capability to collaborate cross‐functionally and within legal function, in the context of both supervisory and non‐supervisory relationships

  • Experience leveraging external counsel to provide business‐critical, pragmatic legal support in cost‐efficient manner

  • Experience in international business and commercial transactions

  • Experience in international and extra‐territorial legal matters, including US FCPA, trade sanctions, Import/Export, and Anti‐Boycott compliance issues

  • Experience with Intellectual Property matters and strategies and portfolio management

  • Experience with international competition law/anti‐trust matters

  • Experience with food and drug regulatory matters

  • Experience with collaborative and outsourced business relationships, including joint ventures

  • Computer literacy, familiar with all Microsoft applications
