About the role:
As a Graduate in Property & Casualty Business Management Portfolio Management, you will support defining and ensuring delivery of the strategic direction for Swiss Re's inforce P&C Reinsurance Business. You will act as a Portfolio Analyst for a number of assigned EMEA markets which includes Portfolio Management, Account Management and Commutation activities. Preferably, you are passionate about data science and motivated to drive projects at the interface between analytics and business.
Your main responsibilities will be:
•To support Portfolio Management from a holistic and a Market/Line of Business perspective; identify and pursue opportunities plus take mitigating actions.
•In collaboration with cross functional teams and applying your quantitative skills, you will assist and drive Portfolio Trend Analysis projects.
•To act as the link between P&C Business Management and Underwriting; help define and implement the Portfolio strategy.
•To represent P&C BM Portfolio Management in regional and client teams and support the respective commutation strategy.
•To be responsible for the internal reporting and steering tools.
•To take part in Portfolio special tasks and projects and prioritize of workloads against agreed service standards.
•To create an overall transparency to ensure awareness of our activities across Swiss Re plus to stimulate new opportunity identification.
About the team:
We are a European Team located in Zurich, Munich, London, Rome and Copenhagen and are responsible for all P&C Portfolio Management activities in EMEA which includes Commutation-, Account Management and Portfolio Analysis activities.
Our team is a diversified and multinational team. In the position of a Graduate Portfolio Manager Analyst, you are in constant contact with our clients around Europe. In addition, we are in a permanent exchange with Underwriting on Portfolio Management activities.
We are heavily involved in cross functional teams with Underwriting which gives a great insight into the various functions and activities. Our team language is both English and German, but English being our corresponding language.
About You:
•Successfully completed university degree, preferably in applied mathematics, physics, statistics, economics, geography, system-oriented natural sciences, finance, accounting or equivalent
•Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
•Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
•Creative, showing a high degree of own initiative
•Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
•Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment,
•Aptitude to express him-/herself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups
•Mature & self-confident; Able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues
•Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment
•Strong expertise to work independently and proactively
•Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
•Excellent oral and written English skills; additional language skills advantageous, in particular German and/or French.
•Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
•Very good communication and interpersonal skills
