Überblick


The Chief Privacy Officer (“CPO”) shall oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s privacy policies and programs, including of the Binding Corporate Rules once established. This new position will be based in Europe (Germany or France) and will be reporting to the General Counsel with a dotted reporting line to the BRUKER Executive Leadership Team.


Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten



  • Continues building a strategic and comprehensive privacy program, including appropriate policies and procedures, to enable consistent, effective data privacy practices.

  • Establishes and coordinates a network of regional privacy responsibilities.

  • Collaborates closely with the Information Technology (IT) department to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, investigations; acts as a liaison to the IT department.

  • Works with continuation improvement in the organization to build efficiency in our privacy measures.

  • Performs or oversees periodic privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation and remediation and works with senior management and corporate compliance officer to establish and maintain governance for the privacy program.

  • Oversees and develops ongoing privacy training to the workforce.

  • Where necessary or appropriate, represents the organization before data protection authorities and other relevant regulators and agencies.

  • Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster data privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.

  • Serves as data privacy resource to the organization regarding release of information and to all departments for all privacy related issues.

  • Reports on a periodic basis regarding the status of the privacy program and privacy risks to the Executive Leadership Team.


Qualifikationen



  • Law degree and/or other relevant Master’s degree (e.g. IT)

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the privacy professionand deep working knowledge of current EU (GDPR) and international privacy laws, privacy risk and compliance management.

  • Strong technical understanding relating to IT environments.

  • Experience working in a multinational corporation (particularly head quartered in the US).

  • Recognized certification in privacy and data protection.

  • Experience with implementing and maintaining a global privacy program.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English plus German or French. Additional languages are a plus.
