Product Manager, Google Cloud

The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch. As part of the Product Management team, you bridge the technical and business worlds as you design services that our customers love. You'll work with Googlers from Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to name just a few. You have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Google speed. As a Product Manager, you will be part of shaping Google's next moonshot.


In this role, your mission will be to collaborate with Google Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to develop the next generation of continuous delivery and automation products. You will work closely with the open source community to cross-pollinate Google SRE practices and automation, as well as acting as the subject-matter expert both within Google and at conferences. You will be driving requirements, user experience (UX) and delivery for the next generation of software lifecycle management for the largest production services.

Responsibilities


  • Launch products with the help of other teams.

  • Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy.

  • Understand customer needs and gather product requirements in order to develop new products and to enhance existing products.

  • Engage and work closely with the Engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods, as well as a reasonable implementation schedule.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in software development.

  • Experience in product management or design with a focus on internet products and technologies.


Preferred qualifications:



  • Experience with one of the following: system modeling, Infrastructure as a code, Kubernetes or cloud automation

  • Product management and/or hands on experience with CI/CD tools and practices.

  • Deep knowledge of, or hands on experience with, software deployment and configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc).

  • Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, networks and data sets

  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, User Interface (UI), sales, customer support, finance or marketing.
