The DXC Banking Service Center (DXC BSC) in Bern develops, manages and operates a core banking solution for multiple banks.  DXC BSC is looking for an Application Manager to undertake the service management activities and enhancements involved in the ongoing delivery of Application Management. Provides application lifecycle expertise for the support, monitoring, troubleshooting, change and enhancement of packaged (e.g. SAP, Oracle) or custom applications (i.e. IBIS3G Core Banking) in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and established technical standards such as CMMI-SCC and ISO. Engages in and provides support for transition/transformation efforts. Undertakes the full range of Service Management functions required to ensure service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and committed service levels on an on-going basis following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards, such as ISO, and best practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).


Responsibilities:



  • Apply technical knowledge to operate a technology area (e.g. server administration, technical security management, performance management) or customer group with moderate risk/complexity. Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding to create superior solutions for company and for customers;

  • Incident Management: Resolve most technical incidents independently within your technical area. Work with team members to resolve more complex or cross-technology incidents;

  • Escalation Management: identify potential escalations and alert management proactively. Manage basic escalations with customer;

  • Problem Management: Begin to proactively and reactively provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility. Analysis of data and trends to define changes to increase application reliability, reduce maintenance costs, etc;

  • Change Management/Implementation: Independently review, implement, and verify changes/solutions of moderate complexity and risk to meet customer and/or trade/company Information Technology infrastructure needs within area(s) of technical responsibility;

  • Understand and escalate scope changes per change control process;

  • Patch and Security Management: Apply patch and security changes per policy. Proactively monitor the environment for patch compliance;

  • Configuration Management: Ensure Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries are complete and accurate;

  • Customer Relationship Management: Balance internal needs with customers and/or internal businesses/end user’s needs within defined parameters.


Requirements:



  • 4-6 years of experience in the banking industry;

  • ITIL knowhow, preferably certified;

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both internally and with the customer;

  • Excellent spoken and written German and English;

  • Interest and ability to familiarize with banking topics as well as technical tasks;

  • Proven analytic skills, strong judgment and works effectively with others;

  • Strong prioritization and leadership skills;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • Team Player.
