Your responsibilities



  • Acting as Airworthiness Engineer to provide guidance to the engineering regarding compliance demonstration methodologies

  • Establishing/overseeing the relevant set of certification requirements of new type designs and/or for changes to approved type designs

  • Acting in the Compliance Verification Engineer[1] (CVE) role as an independent check function within the Design Organization and reports directly to the Chief of Office of Airworthiness

  • Checking and releasing Certification Documents (e.g. Master and/or Discipline Certification Programs, Compliance Check Lists; Master Document List; Manuals and Instruction for Airworthiness; etc.)

  • Negotiating with Engineering Departments; Design Organization Suppliers/Subcontractors and liaising with the Certification Authorities worldwide regarding applicable certification requirements, roadmaps and compliance demonstration documentation

  • Liaising with Chief Engineering Team in charge of powertrain design with regards to initial airworthiness requirements management, qualification and continued airworthiness matters

  • Coordinating with the CVE on Fatigue and Damage Tolerance matter to contribute to the development of adequate test programs by engineering team

  • Participating to and witnessing of component, system and ground test activities for powertrain systems including gearboxes and drive shafts

  • Independently verifying of the compliance of proposed type of design data with airworthiness requirements which includes certification guidelines

  • Approving
    minor changes to approved type design or release of design changes for new type design not being approved

  • Approving concessions for airworthiness matter (use-as-is decision etc.)

Your qualifications



  • Hold a university degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • Proven senior level engineering experience (+5years for EOA role; +10 years for CVE role) with rotary wing aircraft gearbox and driveshaft designs and its structural analysis / testing

  • Knowledge of rotary wing gearbox certification processes is a must, which includes thorough understanding of the production process qualification activities , in-house and at suppliers

  • Overall understanding and knowledge of applicable rotorcraft system architecture is a plus

  • Good English language skills, both verbal and in writing, a working knowledge of German language will be an advantage

  • Very good team player skills, self-driven attitude and the ability to work to fixed deadlines
