The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers and software infrastructure. As a Partner Engineer, you'll work closely with the Partner Manager to develop and maintain new and existing partnerships, and use your technical expertise to integrate Google Cloud into their work stream. You will become a trusted advisor to our partners, providing technical support throughout the integration process by troubleshooting and identifying solutions to challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Work with Partner Managers to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key partner technical objections and develop the strategy to resolve technical challenges.


• Provide application development and deployment support for Google’s partners.


• Work closely with partners to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.


• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure to ensure the optimum efficiency of Google Cloud products.


• Travel to partner sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.


• Experience working in cloud computing as a technical sales engineer.


• Experience in one or more of the following: architecture, development and management of containerized applications, multi-cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments and/or mobile and web application development platforms.


• Experience with SAP technologies and their architecture/infrastructure needs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related area.


• Experience with the methodologies, tools and technologies to support application development stages (e.g. Jenkins, Spinnaker, Concourse, Python, Java, or Shell).


• Experience in developing scalable architectures using API management, micro-service frameworks (e.g. Spring Cloud, Istio), and container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Docker).


• Experience working with different application architecture components (e.g. containers, micro-services, twelve factor applications or API management).


• Knowledge of networking concepts including: routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.


• Ability to work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud technology space.
