The delegate ensures the successful implementation of a variety of education projects implemented in Lebanon and Syria. The current focus of these projects is the improvement of quality of education towards enhanced learning opportunities, early childhood education, and child protection.
The learning environment is as much a focus of interventions as skills of teachers and school management. Providing psychosocial support, especially for children who have been displaced (IDP and refugee children), is a key aspect of Caritas’ projects; Caritas and its partners seek to combine pedagogical and psychosocial support and skill development in their interventions. The programme is supported through international and regional research partnerships for technical backstopping, capacity building and increased sustainability of the interventions.
The education projects are part of the Syria Crisis Response programme of Caritas Switzerland. This regional programme covers Jordan, Lebanon and Syria with a regional delegation based in Beirut in which the delegate is integrated in.
