For our production plant Datamars (Thailand) based in Lamphun, we are searching an experienced

Technical Manager (Technology & Engineering – Expat)

PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be responsible for helping grow the Datamars operations (RFID & Electronics assembly,
Injection molding) located in Thailand and improve its quality and performance. He/ she will lead and manage
several project leaders/ managers who oversee engineering activities related to manufacturing including design,
development, testing, process control and industrialization and IT/ IS. Setting up and executing a process
development roadmap including new technologies to meet future market and manufacturing demands is key.
This position will drive Project Management to achieve Time, Scope, Budget targets. He/ she provides input to
strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. He/she develops and maintains the
department budget. He/ she can resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination
with other departments and subsidiaries.
The candidate is inquisitive and innovative with a passion for building high quality products and processes. He/
she has a hands-on mentality and has the ultimate drive in setting and achieving challenging goals and can
develop his/ her team by coaching and technical advice. Ideally the candidate has had several years of
experience in equipment & process development, project management and department management and is an
expert in at least one technical discipline like precision mechanics and/ or RFID and/ or automation. The
candidate will report directly to the Thailand General Manager and be the linking pin for engineering between
corporate HQ, global subsidiaries and departments.

MAIN DUTIES
Responsible for the following tasks:

• Management of Process Development, NPI and Process Engineering teams;


• Feasibility studies, business cases and projects for industrialization projects and production transfers;


• Project management of Time, Scope and Budget for Production transfer, Process Development, New Product
  Implementation and Continuous improvement projects;


• Research existing production processes and products and define what is needed for a successful transfer
  considering key quality & control documents and assembly know-how;


• Create and drive the process development roadmap meeting marketing demands and increase competitivity
  and quality;


• Partner with operations departments to identify problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis, analyze
  requirements to come up with optimal resolutions for challenging equipment issues;


• Be a strategic thought partner to align with operations leaders in establishing/reinforcing standards while
  integrating engineering information to strategic plans and operational reviews that may impact; productivity,
  quality, and customer-service standards;


• Ensure compliance and provide direction according to Datamars design control process;


• Actively participate in the design control process: planning, design input, design output, design review, design
  verification, design validation, design changes, and design history file maintenance;


• Apply appropriate risk management tools (i.e. FMEA's) throughout all projects and that the tools used are
  consistent with applicable regulatory standards and industry practices;


• Ability to effectively facilitate design reviews and requirements traceability activities;


• Ensure the design history file is complete accurate and defensible for each product release;

• Provide change management leadership to implement Best-in-Class Engineering strategies and initiatives
  stablishing a high performance and continuous improvement culture driven by key performance metrics,
  benchmarking and sharing of best practices;


• Ensure that the production and/or service of products are maintained at the rate and quality levels assigned as
  required by applicable KPI’s, quality system and regulatory requirements;


• Establish a dashboard of metrics, reports and statistical techniques that indicates the level of product quality
  at any stage of development or manufacturing;


• Provide input requirements and direction for manufacturing tooling and equipment;


• Develop, coordinate and execute protocol & report strategy/requirements;


• Direct and oversee successful integration of process automation activities;


• Oversee equipment and process testing and conduct analytical and product performance testing;


• Roll out corporate engineering directives/ guidelines;


• Assure regulatory compliance by meeting or exceeding the requirements in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
  and ISO 14001;

REQUIREMENTS

▪ MSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equal level through work experience;
▪ >10 years of manufacturing process improvement and development in electronics assembly industry;
▪ At least 3 years of experience in project management using PMI or PMBOK principles;
▪ Experience in Manufacturing Engineering Management of >20 engineers;
▪ Experience in Injection molding is a strong plus;
▪ Expert in one or more technical discipline (e.g. precision mechanics, RFID, automation)
▪ Statistical Process Control, Lean, OEE, Six Sigma knowledge and experience;
▪ Proven track record in process development and technological innovation;
▪ Methodical and systematical work attitude;
▪ Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment;
▪ Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience;
▪ Ability to influence others and work within cross-functional teams to make critical decisions;
▪ Excellent English written and spoken.
