a robotics project at the ASL (Autonomous Systems Lab www.asl.ethz.ch). We constantly explore new
technologies to increase our know-how, widen our horizons and expand our expertise in electronics,
asynchronous programming and product development into new fields such as augmented reality or
computer vision.
Our projects range from wearable devices for vital sign monitoring (consumer, professional sports,
medical research) to sensing systems (remote monitoring of pharma production processes, smart
metering, flight controllers), algorithm development (machine learning, image processing, 3D image
mapping, pattern detection), firmware (from consumer products to safety critical applications (medical)

agriculture). We are also active in emerging fields like augmented reality applications.
With our solutions for connected products we master the key competencies to collect, store and
analyze large amounts of data.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer (f/m)
who will join us in exiting customer projects and for the advancement of our in-house electronics
hardware development.

Electronic Hardware Engineer (f/m)

Objective

Develop electronics hardware from requirements engineering over circuit and PCB design to technical.

Main responsibilities

Hardware development projects.

• Plan, execute (design circuits, draw schematics, route PCBs) and deliver projects


• Evaluation, selection, sourcing of components


• Coordination of manufacturers and supply chain


• Testing, Reworking, Documentation


• Design reviews


• Support embedded software team


• Maintenance of component libraries

Your profile

• Positive and open personality, independent, adaptive and proactive



• 5 years of hands on experience in electronics circuit design and testing



• University of applied sciences degree (FH/UNI/ETH in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent)


• Outstanding design skills and in-depth knowledge of Altium Designer


• In depth understanding of PCB technologies, manufacturing technologies etc.


• Thorough know how in the field of analog circuits, low power devices and signal processing


• Experience with signal integrity


• Experience with low-power and battery powered sensing systems


• Experience with wireless communication and antenna design advantageous


• Experience with certifications (CE, FCC, ...) and safety critical hardware standards is
  advantageous (e.g. IEC 60601)


• Experience with embedded firmware development (C/C++) desirable


• Hands-On working attitude


• Fluent in English (German is advantageous)
