PROJECT LEAD, GLOBAL HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE INDUSTRIES Temporary position (6 months) The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Why we are recruiting The Centre for Global Industries provides a platform to the world’s leading industry communities to shape the industry agenda and advance public-private cooperation. The Health Industries and System Initiative bring together cross-sector leaders from industry, academia, government, international organizations and civil society to transform global health and healthcare systems. The World Economic Forum is implementing a global project with the UHC2030 (www.uhc2030.org) co-hosted by the World Health Organization and the World Bank Partnership, to build stronger health systems for universal health coverage. The aim of the project is to develop a private-sector constituency (PSC) to provide a convening platform for the private sector to engage in the UHC2030 Partnership agenda. Reporting Lines and Interactions The Project Lead will report to the Practice Lead, Health Systems and will work closely with the Secretariat of the UHC2030 Partnership as well as with the Business Engagement team at the Forum. Main responsibilities
20% strategy to engage the private sector in the UHC2030 Partnership
30% project management to implement the strategy, ensuring a robust community management system
30% coordination to ensure all partners are actively engaged in strategy implementation
20% event planning and logistics
The successful candidate will be assessed on
Development of a governance and engagement strategy for the private-sector constituency of UHC2030 and recommendations for:
governance of the action and consultative group
composition of the groups
additional outreach (as needed)
Design of a community management strategy and work plan to ensure PSC members can be contacted and mobilized at short notice
Development of the annual work plan for the constituency (meeting coordination, content management, engagement enhancement)
Preferred Requirements and Experience
Advanced university degree in health management or other relevant field (e.g. health economics or finance, international health development, public policy, etc.)
6-10 years of professional experience on health strategy issues, ideally in both the public and private sectors
Minimum 5 years in project management, including in multistakeholder management, preferably in a strategy consulting firm
Demonstrated knowledge of the health and healthcare space and ability to work with industry leaders at a senior level, as well as with subject matter and policy experts in academia, non-governmental organizations and governments
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
