With the release of iPhone X in 2017, Apple introduced the revolutionary TrueDepth camera which is used for face recognition to unlock its device and also available through ARKit for custom development.
In mid-2018, Apple released ARKit2, a new version of the AR module bringing new features linked to the TrueDepth camera allowing eye tracking.
Being able to track where a person is looking on the screen opens large areas of experience that can benefit for many users and use cases. This feature could be useful to compare efficiency of 2 interface design (AB testing), to measure user friendliness of an application and even to interact with phone only using his eyes, allowing new way of using applications for disabled users or for users in environment not suited for hand interaction.
For this internship, we will ask you to design & develop an iOS library, relying on ARKit2, which can provide such features in any application. This will allow quick integration of eye tracking abilities to any new application.
