Overall job purpose is to support the Upholstery Shop team in order to meet their objectives, in accordance with the applicable Jet Aviation Basel procedures, Aviation Regulations and customer requirements. Perform minor and major repairs on aircraft soft materials (seats, divan,...) by following JBSL procedures without supervision

 

Description/Tasks:

• Perform minor and major repairs on a/c soft materials (seats, divans, …) following JBSL procedures without supervision



• Strip, clean and recover soft goods such as headliners, panels (windows, dado, …), etc.




• Cut, sew and install covers for seats and/or divans using templates, drawings and/or sketches/renderings




• Build up foam parts using templates, drawings and/or sketches/renderings




• Create templates for seat covers and/or foam parts and for carpets as well based on parts, drawings and/or sketches/renderings




• Train and instruct team members from the Upholstery Shop




• Be able to cut, adjust and fit/install a carpet with/without (extraordinary) pattern into the aircraft cabin




• Report work status, non-conformities, damages and other issues as may be defined to the responsible supervisor

Qualification/Experience:

• Completed Upholsterer apprenticeship


• At least 3 years of experience as Upholster preferably in seat business


• Able to work independently and as part of a team


• Able to read and interpret technical drawings(at least basic) knowledge of aircraft maintenance is desirable


• Team Player


• Able to work without Supervision


• Self motivated, creative mindset


• Lateral thinker, completer finisher


• Good knowledge in MS-Office, knowledge in SAP is beneficial


• Fluent in English, German and/or French is a plus
