Biotech Raw Materials Specialist


Mission:



  • As a Biotech Raw Materials Specialist, you will Support Purchasing in conducting new sourcing, bidding and negotiations to meet business area requirements.

  • You will directly support the development and management of suppliers along with Purchasing, Production and Quality Assurance and ensure that supplier quality and UCB performance remain consistently high.

  • You will provide expert, strategic advice to stakeholders in the area of raw materials and the connected processes.

  • You will optimize processes and bring them to the level of robustness and automation needed by identifying supply issues proactively and managing the development of corrective actions considering process constraints.

  • You will be the pivotal element coordinating cross-departmental efforts and ensuring alignment toward the objectives.

  • You are responsible for procurement plans and material budget calculation and you will ensure that raw materials and consumables are timely available (released) for production in collaboration with Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Production Supervisors.


Responsabilities:



  • Plan raw materials and consumables’ supplies for Biopharma productions of UCB Farchim from authorized suppliers, based on productions’ planning and stock and ensure the supply plan is translated into Purchase Orders.

  • Ensure that raw materials and consumables are timely available (released) for production in collaboration with Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Production Supervisors.

  • Plan and coordinate in collaboration with Warehouse the daily receipts of raw materials.

  • Ensure an optimum stock freshness and rotation, optimize procurement parameters in order to ensure the best balance between inventory targets and service level. Recommends changes to established practices and work with MDM Team, Warehouse and Shared Services to define SAP system enhancements and define improvements.

  • Follow inventory stock of raw materials and DS productions.

  • Identify supply problems proactively and manage the development of corrective actions along with Purchasing department considering process constraints.

  • Optimize processes and bring them to the level of robustness and automation needed.

  • Maintain regular relations with suppliers in order to assure reliable supplies and to measure their performances by means of a satisfactory indicator.

  • Facilitate cross-departmental meetings to ensure the alignment of all functions impacted by the supply of raw materials. Provide expert, strategic procurement advice to stakeholders and serve as expert resource to peers in area of procurement.

  • Set, manage and settle complaints and disputes related to raw materials and consumables.

  • Analyze supplier performances through different KPI’s, propose and follow up improvement strategy. Directly supports the development and management of suppliers along with Purchasing and Quality Assurance to support the ongoing purchase of raw materials while monitoring and ensuring that supplier quality and UCB performance remain consistently high.

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team in conducting new sourcing, bidding and negotiations to meet business area requirements.

  • Back-up procurement & planning activities for Pharma production.

  • Enforce and promote within the team UCB HSE, Quality and PVS culture, and also continuous improvement.


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:



  • Knowledges of Pharma, Quality Control or Biotech processes is a must.

  • Knowledge of SAP MM module, understanding of MRP processes.

  • Project coordination skills.

  • Proven experience in handling risk analysis and investigations.

  • 1-3 years in procurement activities Healthcare Supply Chain or APICS certification is a plus.

  • Capacity to listen, analyze and integrate the needs and inputs of different stakeholders.

  • Good communicator.

  • Ability to handle challenging situations, make decisions and work independently.

  • Passion for innovation.

  • Have an open & positive attitude, pro-active, agile & forward looking.

  • Sense of organization and priorities.

  • Capacity of visualization and anticipation of activities and consequences.

  • Languages: both French and English (spoken and written) are a must.
