Research Technician/Assistant in Molecular Biology


Novimmmune SA is a Swiss drug discovery and development company located in Plan-les-Ouates and Basel that focuses on the creation of antibody-based drugs for the targeted treatment of inflammatory diseases, immune-related disorders, and cancer.


The pipeline is a balance of preclinical and clinical compounds, specific for clinically validated and novel targets.  The company has been purposefully targeting a number of orphan drug indications, with the express hope of eventually providing safe and effective treatment options to some of the often neglected populations suffering from rare diseases.


We are seeking a Technician/Research Assistant to support early drug discovery efforts at Novimmune. The future team member will work in the Protein Engineering Unit and will interact closely with other members of the Research Department.


The successful applicant will contribute to the generation and characterization of monoclonal and/or bispecific drug candidates.


Major responsibilities:


Lab work



  • Perform molecular cloning and PCR amplification

  • Perform DNA plasmid preparation and  sequence analysis

  • Maintain mammalian cell culture and perform transfection

  • Perform protein expression and purification in available systems

  • Perform protein biochemical characterization

  • Perform experiments on Octet platform


Candidate should have:



  • Diploma in a relevant field (Biotechnology, Immunology or Biology)

  • At least 2 years of experience, preferably in industry

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques is absolutely required and previous exposure to in vitro selection methodologies would be a plus.

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently as well as a team member.

  • Ability  to identify, analyze and solve problems in an autonomous manner

  • Be self-motivated/self-starting and diligent

  • Attitude towards teamwork

  • Intermediate level in English, both written and spoken is required

  • Swiss nationality or valid work permit
