Process Engineer Production (m/f)

Position Summary:
This position initiates and leads efficiency improvement initiatives in order to increase Production efficiency as monitored through existing metrics and key performance indicators. This position will also recommend and install process improvements from a practical, technology, quality, and innovation standpoint. Duties include:
Establishes a solid focus on long-term continuous improvement activities through interaction with the entire Operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering and PPI-LEAN Staff. Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of new equipment / technology.
Collaborates with Production to modify workflow barriers and arrangements in order to increase throughput.
Evaluates personnel skills together with the Training Officer and recommends employee placement to provide more effective operations.
Recognizes and resolves process flow barriers through daily observations and interaction with production personnel.
Initiates, leads, and manages cost saving initiatives as it relates to business objectives, current projects, and future investments in technology and production / manufacturing processes.
Drives project initiatives to increase machine speeds, reduce labor hours, and reduce reject rates.
Evaluates and standardizes machine setups to maximize both run speed and quality.
Utilize LEAN techniques to streamline processes and techniques.
Incorporates six sigma techniques to enhance quality and reduce rejects.
Creates detailed working drawings / work flows. Provides and maintains other supporting documentation for designs and projects. Writes SOPs for the projects assigned and trains those.
Proficient in leading and managing multiple project driven assignments from start to finish with sound project management methodologies.
Provides individual project schedules and specifications as well as a weekly department report to Operations management.
Provides technical quality documentation for engineering project designs, and machine upgrades.
Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Education/Training A bachelor of science degree from an accredited college in Engineering. At least two years of food or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience. Basic PC literacy including the ability to generate complex documents in both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Fluency in German and English written and spoken. Continues improvement experience; LEAN / Six Sigma knowledge and experience is an advantage.
