Make a decisive contribution to the success of our Hydro business and strengthen our team in Birr as a Lead Logistics Specialist.
Within the GE Renewable Energy Business, the Hydro market is expected to grow in the coming years, especially in the medium/small, service and digital markets. Hydro has today a global industrial footprint in Europe, China, India, North-America and Latin America.
Essential Responsibilities:
Organize, manage, secure the packing and transport of material, industrial equipment’s around the world
Ensure timely execution of project driven material delivery requirements, in line with project milestones:
Plan, execute and report on multimodal GC and global OOG project transportation requirements
Contract and coordinate with global transportation partners to fulfil internal customers project needs
Support finance and controlling processes by timely invoice allocation and release
Ensure completeness and quality of the required regulatory and business transportation documentation (supplier to site)
Maintain a high level of communication to stakeholders at all time, including local Swiss authorities
Follow-up of shipment physical integrity and handling of potential transportation claims
Leverage knowledge and skills to anticipate potential delivery risks and secure seamless delivery in Alpine environment
Comply with and stay up to date with all relevant regulations (EHS, Customs, Intern policy, Insurance, Legal….).
Qualifications/Requirements:
Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
Customs & International trades expertise
Some experience in Cross-trade transports in Sea freight-Air freight-Road freight (Carnet ATA, repair…etc).
Accurate understanding of latest release of incoterm and HS codes.
Basic understanding of industrial goods manufacturing and demonstrated expertise in transportation execution and risk handling.
Some experience in Materials Planning and Execution.
