Role Summary:

You will work in alignment with the Digital Plant Design Steering Committee to create a clear strategic direction for the application of plant design tools in the areas of 1D-2D-3D and convey that vision to the relevant stakeholders. You will partner with functional resources in the businesses to determine the value proposition and roadmap balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt.




Essential Responsibilities:

You will act as the technical liaison between the development/support teams and the functional end-users/teams to define scope and priority.

Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders: Functional Engineering, Customer Service, Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Service Owners and Developers.

In this role, you will: • Work with cross-functional teams to define the value proposition of the assigned Product • Ensure that the value proposition gets validated by the relevant Business Executive(s) 

• Own the definition of the Product roadmap for both functionality and deployments • Validate the product roadmap with the Steering Committee• Own the delivery of the Product roadmap • Own the benefit realization  • Ensure proper communication to stakeholders about activities on the Product, ensuring visibility of the work performed by the assigned team (e.g. via bi-weekly Product Insights) • Drive the budget process for the assigned Product and align with the DPD Program Manager about the resources needed and with the Business Functional counterparts about the benefit stories with related impact to the Ledger • Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and periodical releases • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs • Engage frequently (80%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready 

• Ensure use of Scrum best practices by attending periodical session with Digital Engineering Scrum / Software Development leader • Apply Technical Product Management Framework 

• Present at periodical internal Technical Product Management reviews • Collaborate with Design to know customers and understand behaviors • Help the customer define how the digital tools can best help their design processes • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas• Partner with the Program Management team to ensure healthy development process • Apply Agile principles to translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning

• Show increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product • Demonstrate ability to influence customers and product managers through persuasion and influencing • Work with vendors to drive improvements in their products and resolve issues related to GE • Stay on top of the latest technologies in the Plant Design Space and make recommendations for technical and process improvements 



Additional Responsibilities: The Product area of initial responsibility, subjected to possible variation, is: Customer Project Requirement Management (plant scope), Change Management and Configuration Management (plant scope)




Qualifications/Requirements:

• Legal authorization to work in Switzerland 

• Must be willing to travel • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent• Strong professional experience in process, mechanical or E&IC design • Strong professional experience working with Digital Plant Design tools • Broad professional experience working with PLM • proven professional experience as Project Manager or as Technical Product Manager




Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise: • Working knowledge of existing Plant Design Software, such as AVEVA, Comos, SmartPlant

• Professional experience with different industry standards (ISA/PIP, KKS, NEC, IEC, …)• Experience in Scrum methodology



Business Acumen:• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts• Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team. Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders.• Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions



Leadership:• Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members• Participates in change initiatives by implementing new directions and providing appropriate information and feedback.• Delivers tasks on-time with alignment to architectural goals. Can identify and raise issues, risks and benefits.• Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
