Job Description


lm group is looking for a Senior Platform Datastore Engineer for its Datastore team based in Chiasso.


Key Responsibilities



  • Analyze and respond to performance and other maintenance issues of both production and staging environment

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining MySQL databases in production and non-production environments

  • Database administration backup, performance-tuning, resolve database related problems on a daily basis

  • Work with developers in defining optimal database architecture, optimizing SQL queries

  • Monitor and optimize databases performance and capacity planning

  • Perform rolling upgrades of MySQL servers

  • Root cause analysis of database related issues

  • Manage backup and recovery

  • Contribute in development of SQL scripts and complex queries

  • Manage tracking, alerting, and reporting of database servers  


Qualifications


 Essential



  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Database administration,  performance tuning and optimisation (at InnoDB engine level), replication in master/master and multi slave environment.

  • Previous experience with Mysql 

  • Familiar with Linux OS (specifically, CentOS) and able to use the OS tools to investigate performance issues

  • Familiar with Cloud (ex. AWS/GCP) , DevOps methodologies and basic knowledge of at least one Configuration Management tool (ex. Puppet/Ansible)

  • Ability to write shell scripts in order  to automate maintenance task

  • Experience in day by day administration of large datasets (1 TB and over)


Desirable



  • Knowledge of Mysql HA solutions (ex. Galera Cluster) would be a plus

  • Knowledge of NO-SQL (ex. Cassandra/MongoDB)  databases would be a plus

  • Working experience in an Agile Environment would be a plus. 

  • Ability to write SQL scripts, reports and ETL

  • MySQL Backup and Recovery experience and concepts other than mysqldump

  • Experience  managing monitoring and alerting for MySQL using tools such as Graphite/Grafana, Nagios, custom script, etc.
