Now is a great time to join the Business Unit (BU) Automation team which is shaping the future of an entire industry worldwide. We are looking for an energetic and experienced Product Line Manager to lead our rapidly growing digital product portfolio for equipment automation. At Sandvik, the future is now! This strategic position is based in Tampere, Finland and reports to the Global Product Line Manager, Automation.


Job profile


In this role, you will be part of the BU Automation product management team and responsible for managing the existing product portfolio and driving product development needs, plans, and priorities for those underground automation applications that require external tele-remote control and/or operations management technologies outside of equipment products. We expect that you will perform your duties with a high degree of independence, initiative and judgment. This role requires up to 40% domestic and international travel to visit customers and mines, as well as:



  • Product portfolio strategic planning and continuous management to meet business objectives and keep products competitive in the markets

  • Product development roadmap creation and continuous management

  • Product development supervision/sponsoring according to Sandvik Mining product development process definitions (internal customer to R&D and Engineering function)

  • Ensuring all required product related documentation is available and up-to-date

  • Monitoring of competition and industry trends

  • Selected sales support activities

  • Participation and coordination of various customer events and promotions

  • Product/offering presentations in various forums


Your profile


We are looking for candidates with key skills such as leadership, authority and charisma. You will need to be passionate to lead and to take a proactive approach in “getting things done” while maintaining good team collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.


Requirements:



  • At least 5 years of experience in mining and/or similar industry space

  • Alternatively, at least 5 years of experience in automation/ICT/software industry

  • University Degree in engineering, software or related field

  • Product management, business development, or (product) engineering experience

  • Ability to create and develop product strategies and plans

  • Skills to analyze data from multiple viewpoints including market data, competitive offerings, and other information sources

  • Effective communication skills. In this role you must communicate with people from other areas of the company including top management, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, externals, and sales teams

  • Ability to build strong working, cross collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Strong presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills

  • Fast learning. You should be able to adapt easily to meet the rapidly evolving environment

  • Skills to manage product release related activities including testing, preparing documentation, demos, and product launches

  • Develop and manage pricing strategies together with sales and pricing functions for different categories

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Innovation – the ability to create and develop new ideas

  • Ability to understand customers’ needs to provide a competitive advantage

  • Possibility and willingness to travel

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Fluent in English (both written and verbally)
